Julia Mills began playing the violin at the age of four and has since cultivated a thriving career as an event violinist. Known for her ability to move seamlessly between genres, she performs everything from timeless classical works to modern pop and hip-hop arrangements, tailoring each set to the mood and vision of the occasion. Her performances have been featured at birthdays, anniversaries, religious services, corporate events, and weddings, delighting audiences with both technical precision and heartfelt expression.
Her performing career kicked off in 2014, when she was invited to join the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic as a guest musician for their fall season. The experience was inspiring, and she began booking her first solo event performances in her home state of New Jersey later that year. In 2018, she earned her undergraduate degree in music and acoustics from Oberlin College and Conservatory, where she honed her skills in performance, audio technology, and composition.
Over the past decade, Julia has grown her business into a sought-after performance service, traveling to events across the country and collaborating with clients to create memorable, bespoke musical experiences. In 2023, she completed her M.A. in Music, Science, & Technology at Stanford University, where she explored the role of new technologies in live music experiences. Now back on the East Coast, she continues to bring her signature blend of elegance, energy, and versatility to venues throughout the greater NYC area.
